Bristol family commission
I really loved doing this commission. The clients wanted a piece of glass wall art which represented themselves plus Bristol where they live. They had already seen my freestanding glass waves with a scene of Bristol’s famous coloured houses, and wanted something based on that which also included design elements representing family members and close friends.
I worked with the clients to develop ideas for how best to represent each member of the family. The four balloons represent the clients and their sons. The dogs are one set of grandparents - and the colours represent real family dogs - and the flowers on either side of the dogs are the other grandparents. Finally, the family’s closest friends are represented by the bees buzzing around the flowers.
